การปรับมาใช้ suPHP จะต้องปรับ PHP Engine จาก CLI เป็น CGI ซึ่งผลของการทำงานเมื่อทำงานร่วมกับ suPHP พบว่ามีการใช้งาน CPU หนักขึ้นเท่าตัว ดังภาพเป็นรายละเอียดของการปรับมาใช้ suPHP เริ่มตั้งแต่ช่วงตีสามวันอาทิตย์ จะเห็นได้ว่ากราฟการทำงานของระบบโดยรวมสูงขึ้นมากๆ

วันนี้ทำการติดตั้ง suPHP กับ DirectAdmin ต้องเปลี่ยน PHP จาก CLI -> CGI แล้วก็ปรับ Mode ของ Directory ที่มีอยู่ รายละเอียดมีดังนี้

cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/
./build update
./build clean
./build suphp
แก้ไขไฟล์ options.conf
-> เปลี่ยน PHP จาก CLI -> CGI
./build php
เสร็จแล้ว ก็ไปปรับ Directory ห้าม Mode เกิน 755 และ User ของไฟล์ PHP จะต้องเป็น user:user

ปัญหา Postfix กับอีเมล์ตีกลับ เพราะ Unknow User

วันนี้เซิฟเวอร์มีปัญหา โดยคุณชนะ (BBAquarium.com) ได้แจ้งมาว่า ไม่สามารถส่งข้อมูลจากฟอร์ม เข้าอีเมล์ info@bbaquarium.com ได้ โดยที่ BBAquarium.com ใช้ Mail Server ของ Google Mail อยู่

Workaround

/etc/postfix/vhcs2/domains
/etc/vhcs2/postfix/working/domains

ให้ทำการ Remove Domain name ที่ต้องการจะส่งไปยัง Google Mail ออก ในที่นี้คือ bbaquarium.com แล้วสั่ง /etc/init.d/postfix reload เป็นอันเสร็จสิ้น

สาเหตุ

จากความเข้าใจเบื้องต้น เนื่องจากรายชื่อดังกล่าว อยู่ในกลุ่มของ Virtual User ดังนั้น Postfix จึงค้นหา Mailbox ของ User ภายใต้ Domain name ดังกล่าวก่อน เมื่อไม่พบ จึงได้แจ้งอีเมล์ออกมาว่าไม่มี User นั้นๆในระบบ

Update: 06 Mar 2008 เผลอลบ rm -rf /var/www/vhcs2/gui ไป จึงใช้วิธีการดึงจาก SVN Repository แต่ไม่แน่ใจว่ามีไฟล์ใดได้รับผลกระทบหรือไม่

SSH: Brust force attacking

Today, I am monitoring my server and found the unidentify connection (netstat -pant) over port 22 (Secure Shell). I take more investigate by query /var/log/auth.log and found that someone try to attack my secure shell

So, I play with them. Investigate the source of attacker by resolve the origin of IP address, one attacker come from india, and another one come from china if the ip address database is up-to-date.

I have not block them yet because they can brust force attack at 3 passwords / seconds also the user doesn't exist in my server, so I play more to practise myself to handle the attacker

It is simple to block them from the system by use iptables policy like this

# iptables -I INPUT 1 -s 59.144.32.29 -j DROP

so, before I'm end my work, I will monitoring the behaviour of these attacker.

Prevent attacker from root attacking

vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config <this depended on your linux dist.>
insert below line
PermitRootLogin no
after that, save file
restart the service
now, your secure shell cannot be login with root account

Linux: Enable/Disable su command

This is technical to enable/disable su command in linux (enable root account in alternative meaning)

To Enable:

sudo password root

To Disable:

sudo password -l root

When disable root account, you can use the root privillage by following command

sudo -i
sudo su -

Above command act as "su -"

Postfix: ปัญหา Postfix กับ VHCS

คราวก่อน เคยเขียนเรื่อง Postfix กับการส่งเมล์ภายในโดเมนตัวเองไปแล้ว ที่จะต้องไปปรับ local_transport เป็น smtp เพื่อบังคับให้ Postfix ทำการส่งเมล์ผ่าน SMTP Gateway ซึ่งจะมีการเช็คว่า mail ที่เราส่งนั้น จะต้องส่งไปที่ใด เนื่องจาก local_transport=local จะทำให้ตัว Postfix ไม่มีการ Lookup MX Record เพิ่มเติม แต่จะยัดลง Local ทันที ซึงผลทำให้ ถ้าหาก Domain name นั้นๆ ไม่ได้ใช้ Mail server เครื่องดังกล่าว เมล์ก็จะหายไปด้วย ไม่มีการแจ้งเตือนกลับมาอย่างไร ว่าเจ้าของไม่ได้รับ เพราะว่าเมล์มันส่งสำเร็จ แต่อยู่ผิดที่ผิดทาง เหมือนส่งไปรษณีย์ไปยังบ้านเก่า ที่เจ้าของบ้าน ก็เช็คกล่องจดหมายเฉพาะบ้านที่อยู่ปัจจุบันเท่านั้น

นอกเหนือจากต้องเซ็ต local_transport เป็น smtp แล้ว ยังจะต้องเซ็ต map ของ local ให้เป็นค่าว่างอีกด้วย ซึ่งค่าโดยปกติ จะเป็นค่า Username/Password ของระบบ ซึ่งผลทำให้ ถ้าหากชื่อเมล์ที่เราส่งถึง มันไม่มีรายชื่อในนี้ ก็จะไม่สามารถส่งได้นั้นเอง

จริงๆ มันอาจจะไม่ใช่วิธีที่ถูกต้องที่สุด แต่มันก็เป็นวิธีการที่ทำให้เมล์ส่งถึงเมล์เซิร์ฟเวอร์ ของโดเมนที่อยู่ในเครื่องได้ถูกที่ถูกทาง

Server: Denial-of-Service

Yesterday, I cannot connect to comscience.net because the server got SYN_RECV from one IP address that send to my server to make denial-of-service. I am quickly checking the system and find the solution to block that IP address to send SYN_RECV.

I try to ask some expert but they doesn't know the way to resolve my problem until I call to Arm (Compman). He give some advisements to me by use iptables with specific parameter.

#iptables -I INPUT [line number] -s [ipaddress] -j DROP
#iptables -I INPUT 1 -s 203.xxx.xxx.xxx -j DROP

that's work! They gone. After the attack over 2 hours. After that, I looking for the information of that IP Address and keep some logs from my server. Now prepare the information for the police station that I don't know they can help me to find the person from that IP address or not.///

Postfix : ส่งเมล์เข้า Localhost

มีปัญหากับ Postfix ที่ใช้ทำ Hosting ว่า มันส่งเมล์ของโดเมนของตัวมันเองไม่ได้ จะส่งเข้า Local ตลอด เดิมที เคยแก้แ้ล้ว แล้วอยู่ๆค่า Configuration เปลี่ยนไป วันนี้เลยมาโน๊ตไว้กันลืม

สามารถแก้ไขได้ด้วยการเปลี่ยน local_transport จาก local เป็น smtp

เพราะว่า local daemon มันจะส่งเข้า mailbox ใน shell โลด ไม่มีการเช็คอะไรเพิ่มเติม ในขณะที่ smtp จะเช็คว่า MX Record ของโดเมนนั้น แท้จริงอยู่ที่ไหน.
